Heathrow

"The transatlantic flight was actually fairly full, though not as much as usual; the plane came in from Texas with some passengers already on-board. We wound up sitting next to a texan woman on her way to Georgia to teach at a seminary for two weeks. She apparently goes every year, and particularly enjoys teaching the women, who haven't had much prior opportunity to learn about the bible and theology. (Apparently something mostly reserved for men traditionally.) We also wound up discussing home schooling -- despite the fact that she had taught school for some years, she thought home schooling was the ideal form of education if the parents were willing to devote sufficient time and energy to it.

Surprisingly, we both got a fair amount of sleep on the flight; I think the fact that neither of us had slept enough for several nights previous (because there was so much to get done) helped us zonk out quickly.

We had lunch at Pret A Manger, which really made me feel like I'm in London. I love that you can get such delicious pre-made sandwiches all over the place here! Now we have a few more hours to wait, and we'll be off to Istanbul!"
