USA, 2000

In January 2000, Rick went to Seton Hall University for the Ubiquitous Computing Conference. Here he's admiring a statue on the university's campus.
In the spring, he furthered his education at the Michigan Business School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he was so busy studying he didn't leave his room.
He had more fun in Boston, where he visited his special friends Talia and Gabriel.
In August, he went on a road trip down to Williamsburg, Virginia with John, where he enjoyed Death by Chocolate at the Trellis Restaurant.
Since Sonja was on a road trip at the same time, Rick sent his friend Henrietta along with her. Henrietta had a lot of fun at Niagara Falls, where a fellow tourist kindly offered to take a picture of her and Sonja together.
Henrietta also visited Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, in Michigan. She'd never seen a lake she couldn't see the other shore of before.

In September, Rick visited San Francisco. Here he's playing on a sculpture of a Double Helix, and posing with the bay in the background.
While he was in San Francisco, he visited his friends Chris and Judy. They're really bear people, but they made an exception for him.

In November, he took in some Civil War history in Richmond, Virginia. He liked imagining himself as an animate cannonball.
